I used to use Cubase SX, and im now trying out Logic Express before I upgrade to Logic Pro. Man, this environment thing is killing me. I have three external sound modules and I can not play them for nothing right now. I need help setting up my envirnment. i have the manual, but its just not helping me. CAN ANYONE HELP A BROTHER OUT, i want to switch to Logic...So far I have opened an asuio intrument track and set my inputs to the garbage band (just to test it) and it works with my midi keyboard. Can anyone give me some step by step intructions on how to set up my midi sound modules (motif rack, emu 2500 and MPC). Thanks

You need to create a Multi Instrument in the environment for each of your MIDI sound modules and name them the same as your modules.
Assign the port for each of these multi instruments to the corresponding ports that they are connected to on your MIDI interface. Click on each of the channels of your Multi Instruments that your sound modules respond to, e.g if your synth responds to 16 channels click on all 16 channel numbers of the multi. Now in the arrange page Create a new track and assign this to one of your synth modules. Where are the audio outputs of your synth modules connected? to a mixer or directly to a sound card? Complete the above steps and then report back and let me know if you are getting MIDI messages to your synths. Do they have MIDI receive lights? |
