I just switched from PC Sonar 3 to MAC OSX DP4. But I have problems while playing back the MIDI track. In Audio Midi Setup, I have connected my keyboard Roland FantomX8 to my midi/audio interface Edirol UA700. In the MIDI TRACK, there are 2 things for me to choose, IAC port and Port1. I don't know what they are and I chose Port1(as I guess that is my Fantom port). I am trying to input the midi data from my Fantom Keyboard to the UA700 and assume the UA700 would send back the midi data to the Fantom Keyboard to get the instrument sound. What I found out is, I could only record midi data onto the midi track, but I couldn't hear anything when I playback the track. It is strange coz I see the Level Meter on the midi track is moving up and down while I playback the midi track but I hear no sound at all. Could anyone help me please.....

I assume that you have a midi out cable from your UA700 to the FantomX8. If so.....
*Check that the correct out in DP is chosen. <<(How are you monitoring?) *Test within Audio Midi Setup to confirm your out source. *You can run AutoConfigure Midi Devices>> (Located in Setup in DP) *You can set Transmit Sync(FantomX or Midi Keyboard) and Receive Sync(any)>> (also under Setup in DP) This post has been edited by Nels: Wed 9 Feb 2005, 12:11 |
