i'm using cubase sx and don't seem to be able to play back using quicktime sounds. i'm able to use the built in vst a1 synth and have downloaded crystal and a demo of kontakt, but i just want a regular gm set. any ideas?

In OSX the Quicktime instruments are Audio Units, and SX doesn't support them.

you may be able to use apps like RAX, wormhole, to route audio to SX.
