I have just purchased an M Audio Audiophile 2496 sound card package that includes Delta Logic program. I'm working on a G3 with OS 9 with over 300mg of RAM and 2G of hard disk space. I''ve got it plugged into by stereo system and can play Reason demos through M Audio which sounds great. I'm really keen to start programing in Delta but I can't even get the tutorial songs to play. Everytime I press play I get an error message saying 'ASIO is malfunctioning -999' . ASIO drivers are all ok and assigned the right drivers and preferences. Occationally it will work, which frustrates me even more, but when I quit and reopen with all the settings still the same it dosn't work! The only time it works is after I have used another program 'Sound Edit'. I don't know the connection, if there is one. Can anyone help?

I run full Logic Audio but try the Basics.
Go to your 'Extensions Manager' in the Apple menu.Make a Copy of your extensions set and rename. Now edit your Extensions turning of anything which is not needed for music.Make shure you have the latest drivers ,there are 3 for this card so make shure it is the correct one ,and restart with your new extension set.
Also check that Apple talk is off and Virtual memory off.
Other than that call the Midiman help line. You've paid good money for this card and software and from my experience the manual you get with the package is as usefull as an ashtray on a motorbike .
Hope this helps.

Just to add to the mank post:

you can switch off almost anything that is not needed for music EXCEPT Quicktime!!!

Important for the general speed and stability (don't ask me why)

ps: do bikers smoke then? wink.gif
