Hi,
I play acoustic guitar in a duo with another, so we have 2 electric acoustic guitars (with preamps), and two Shure SM58's. Currently we are playing small venues using a Squire Powermixer which has 4 line in's and very small amount of EQ. As you can imagine it sounds ok, but far from awesome!!! I have recently bought a 15inch powerbook, and I am dead keen on recording a demo CD, but also...if possible use a computer software program to mix my songs and then send them back to the mixer for live gigs. For this I gather I will need to get.... A soundcard with a 4x4 capabilities (eventually once I learn the software capabilities!!!) That is down the track, because I have a gig coming up and I want to start with the mixer as my first proper purchase, what should I get. I don't want to spend much more than £250. I am hoping that i can use the mixer for EQ purposes for the next gig and then plug that into the input of the powered mixer. In a nutshell what mixer is goign to suit me.....for live and recording use!!! I have seen the Soundlab G742 poweramp which looks like it will do everything I want, but if anyone has any advice please help!!! This post has been edited by ando: Tue 24 Aug 2004, 17:53 |
