Tell everyone what song you're listening to. It's a great way to share your music with others and get an idea of what others listen to, find new music. This is absolutely not for the purpose of spam. Don't double-post or put stuff like, "Not listening to anything right now." Try to give a bit of background on the artist/song you specify, too. Keep discussion going while you're posting your current song playing.

Listening to -- "Fell On Black Days" :: Soundgarden :: Superunknown
I agree with you (^^^ up there ^^^), Soundgarden is one awesome band. If you liked Rage Against The Machine at all (another of my favorite bands), I take it you like Audioslave? They're a bit different, but I still love the sounds.

Seems I don't listen to the same music. Will check out the songs you've mentioned. No no! The Walker Brothers, yes forgot them. Great Thanks Listening to Illioi on the Seven album by Zap Mama. It came up at random out of my itunes list. Everybody knows Zap Mama of course?! World music. All I can say is go on itunes and listen to samples. Does anybody listen to scat? Now its Teen Town - Weather Report.

re scat question: Most good instrumentalists can scat really well while they're playing, in fact they seem to have trouble playing without. I believe recording engineers used to despair of Earl Hines or Oscar Peterson's 'vocals'. There used to be a few amazing scat vocalese groups around, a few of them French, the terrific 'double six' spring to mind, plus a couple of contemporary bands, whose names escape me. Lambert Hendrix and Ross were probably the most celebrated practitioners...apart from Ella of course.
re Teen Town: Ah, the immortal Jaco Pastorius; what a player eh? Tragic end though. At the moment I'm listening to Jan Hammer's '76ish album 'The first 7 days' . Wonderfully expressive synth solos, surprisingly quite gentle in parts though, with less of the manic. frenetic, slightly exhausting energy of the Mahavishnu Orchestra all trying to outdo one another.
