SATIS 2001, Paris, october 23-25Logic ControlEmagic was showing its newest Logic remote, the LogicControl. With 8 motorized fader, and 8 mackie-like knobs, it controls automation, plug-ins, transport and common Logic commands. Up to 5 extentions pack can be added for a total of 48 faders. (LogicControl) Some photos: Full view Main module, detailed viewExtention module, detailed viewLiveLive is a new software from Obleton. It's an ACID-like audio multitrack sequencer which recognizes (like Recycle) and TimeScretchs various audio loops. Patterns can be chained, to build a complete song. Plug-ins (even VST) can be inserted on each tracks and auto sync to the tempo. The most exciting feature is the 'live' concept of the user interface which will certainly offers new ways for the stage musician. (Live) Nuendo 1.5Steinberg showed the 1.5 version of Nuendo, their audio sequencer, which supports VST & VSTi plug-ins and ASIO drivers. With a more audio oriented interface, Nuendo keeps the Cubase's ease of use. Will it become the protools competitor? MelodyneBut the most amazing software was certainly Melodyne, the new software from Celemony Software: Melodyne records or imports any audio sample, and automatically shows it, as it was MIDI data (see picture bellow). This allows the user to easely change the pitch, lengh, vibrato, glissando of each detected note. The most impressive is the quality of the timestrech which allows dramatic transpose, or lengh change, whithout disturbing the sound's quality! (Melodyne)
