It can't be done. With EQ and other processing tools you can disguise the vocal, but you can't actually remove it completely. You need an existing instrumental version.

The only easy trick is removing the center part of the signal in stereo where usually the voice is by L-R phase reverse mumbo jumbo (sorry I never remember the way to do it). But it's not perfect far from it and you end up with a mono signal.

If you really want it clean, use a real instrumental as Rickenbacker said.

Alesis will sell little gizmos for that (see in the news reports from NAMM 04)
