Can anyone tell me the best way to go about creating a 5.1 track?
My setup is 1ghz Flat panel iMac, and I am alooking at purchasing Logic Express for my audio and midi.
Many thanks
Mike

If Logic doesn't support it you might need some add. software, maybe from Dolby Lab or similar

Yes, you need Logic Pro or Nuendo or something similar....

Thank you for all your replies. They have been very helpful if only to convince me to think again about producing 5.1 surround sound scores.
I was intending to to buy the M-Audio Sonica Theatre, a reasonable set of 5.1 speakers and a dedicated AV amplifer but the price of Logic Pro compared with Logic Express (which with the exception of surround sound has everything I need) makes the surround sound project finacially unviable. Purchasing Nuendo would push the whole idea into another stratosphere again - money that would perhaps be better spent in other areas.
I think I'll stick to stereo for the time being.
Thanks again
Michael
