I'm trying to save .trkarch files from the Artistic Recordings site ( www.artisticrecordings.com ) and install them as samples in Tracktion. I haven't used Tracktion much yet-- can anyone tell me whether there's a trick to this, or if the files are not Mac-compatible?

I'm saving the .trksrch files to a folder in the "Library" and then using "add" in the Tracktion sampler filter. Selecting the file is no problem-- it has the Tracktion icon and everything, suggesting that the file is recognized by the OS-- but then nothing shows up in the sampler file window when I click "Open."

Any help would be appreciated.

I've found the answer to my own question. The archive file needed to be unpacked, which Tracktion was not offering to do when I tried to add the sample set. Double-clicking the archive file in the finder did the trick.
