Hi gollumis.
I run the 828 mkII with a mac G5 and Logic 6 Platinum. I've had no problems with the mkII. It's a great interface. I don't think Logic Express has the Compressor, although Logic Pro does. There is a comparison chart with all the plug-ins in the 2 Logic programs on the emagic website. Go to: http://www.emagic.de/products/PRO/comparis...dio.php?lang=EN -------------------- "...I just don't know...it sounds funny."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mac G5, dual 2.0 GHz, MOTU 828 MkII interface, Virus TI Keyboard, Genelec 1029A and Mackie HR824 monitors, Mackie Control Universal, Presonus Eureka and ART DPS II preamps, Presonus Central Station, AKG C1000S and C3000 mics. Logic Pro 7.2, Trilogy, Stylus, Atmosphere, Native Instruments Komplete 2. |

Sorry of my english, cos' I'm spanish.
I'm running motu 828 mkII on a powebook 867 mhz (640 ram) with cubase SX and no problems. I've been recording live a group with the help of a mixer 12 tracks (44 khz-24 bits) at time without problems.ç It's a very good interface. Cubase SX have compresors to edit your tracks and i think all the programs must have any. This post has been edited by manso: Fri 11 Jun 2004, 08:52 |

Logic Express does not include the Compressor plug-in, but does include the Silver Compressor.
Apart from that, you can download a good Audio Units compressor for free at SmartElectronix. -------------------- electronicmusic.dk

I have been using the 828II with my 12" 1ghz powerbook for a short time and it seems to work great. I use it with DP4 and have had no trouble with the software recognizing the device (I should hope not considering they are both MOTU products!) DP4 comes with loads of effects, including 3 band compressor.
