Evening- I have a G4 with panther and am running Logic Gold6. Now bare in mind I've never used a software sampler before .
I open the exsp24 and it plays the preset samples. However i have the extreme digital sample cd and I can not load any of the samples into it them into in. They don't appear on the drop down menu and when i try to open them with load settings they are greyed out and i can't select one to open. And the manuals not much help, but that might just be my problem!!! Thanks |

seems that you need to copy the files into the sampler instruments folder if you are using os x. that is where logic looks for .exs files for the EXSP24 soft sampler.
and to choose the sounds you would have to click the black screen on the EXSP24 and a drop down menu will appear. not the load setting menu. to make things easier. on the cd you might see something for advanced users. go into that folder and copy the EXSP24 samples into the /MacHD/Library/Application Support/Emagic/Sampler Instruments folder restart logic and you will see them. hope this is right if not let me know and i will help you more. |

Yes, I think that's what has to happen. I recently got the EXS24 myself and was confused at first. All samples have to be in the Emagic EXSamples folder in your Logic 6 Series folder in Applications. Otherwise the sampler can't see them - you can't browse a CD from within the EXS24, as far as I can tell. Love the EXS24, though. So glad I finally got it.

yeah that seems to have worked. Had them in the wrong sampler instruments folder! Nice piece stuff- even the factory sound in it are a lot of fun, and it use very little CPU.
Haven't a clue what the difference between the Exs24 andExsp24. I know the esxp had problems importing Akai samples but I think I read that that has been fixed. Anyway thanks for your help- I'm going to go make noises that probably won't sit well with my hangover! |

I know there's a difference between the EXS24 and the EXSP24 - I just wasn't reading that closely.
The main difference is that the latter (ie the one with a "P" in its name) only plays samples - you can't create them and monkey around with them to the same extent as you can with the EXS24. Hope you punished that hangover with some righteous noise. |

QUOTE I know there's a difference between the EXS24 and the EXSP24 good deal. I figured that you did. i was just trying to clearify. on my machine. the exsp24 wanst all the sound files in the sampler instruments folder. when i was using the exs24-those sounds went into the logicplugins folder.
