After the suggestion of some people at another forum, I came up with a simple site for electronic/computer musicians to share files. The idea is to allow people to upload something they've worked on and post a brief description of how they did it, and others can post reviews of it and then download it and change it/process it in their own way and re-upload it. There's no ultimate goal other than to have a place to share loops, samples, and even full songs with other enthusiats.

Eventually I'm also going to add a login system where you'll have to login to upload and post and will be able to edit previous posts, but for now it's pretty simple.

Anyway, here's the site:

sound cool but...

why not just got to www.lulu.com and sign up for an account that gives unlimited free file storage for audio files and allows you to create projects in which others can contribute, audition and collaborate with message boards, email etc. Plus once you have a finished track that is worthy of sale... you can publish it online for sale as download or on a CD or with other tracks.... even make a compilation of other people's music and sell it too. And there is no fee for signup but only a fee for using their e-commerce to sell items cool.gif

Well, I started this as more of a small-scale, communist idea between some cohorts and I, but I decided to open it to anyone. It's not really simed at any sort of commercial or otherwise finished product (i.e., an album), it's just going to be a place to share ideas. I'm considering adding more stuff like a message board, etc, but I already have a forum on my main site and I sorta like it simple so it'll probably remain as is at least while it gains some users.

Okay, the Project is back up in it's new (and final) form! I found a PHP-based CMS that was perfect for what I wanted, e107, which (most importantly) has an integrated forum, upload and download capabilities. Should work in any modern browser.

So, go ahead and register there so you start uploading and accessing the forum!
