If I install the mac OS X driver for my MOTU 896, will I be able to use it in the mac classic (os 9) environment, where I'll run Cubase?
Please help me out.

Do you mean Classic or rebooting into OS 9 proper? Nothing musical works in Classic mode, so don't even bother. And it wouldn't work anyway - you need the right driver for the right OS. One for 9, one for X.

Surely the best thing for you would be to get the OS 9 driver? Or does your Mac not boot into OS 9? In which case, Cubase will be no use to you either. Unless you're talking about Cubase SX, not VST. In which case, SX is OS X only, so you can't run it in Classic or 9 anyway. blink.gif
