i'm new to mac (been on pc's for years) and was wondering which drive's would be best with the firewire 800 connection, the ATA 100 or 133. I just purchased the power mac dual 1.25 and i'll be running both motu 96 and 192 modules in the studio. as i am in the midst of reconfigging the studio i would like to get it right the first time around.

thanks for your input

The first thing to check is if the external box for the drive is using Oxford 922 for FW800

Now on the 100/133 issue, I don't know, but there's no difference really in the price, so wink.gif

Look at the cache too, the more the better

too new to tell unsure.gif

google doesn't help either unsure.gif

But even oxford 911 wasn't 100% ok for pro work (we have had extensive tests in the French section). But it was ok for back up or exchanging big files for example.
This said, it's not _that_ bad, just that accuracy at sample level is not perfect. There SCSI rules, then IDE.

And not everyone is behind a PT HD in need of 100% accuracy for motion picture soundtracks. For individuals and up to some advertisement jobs it's ok.
