I think OMS is the reason appletalk may not work. I could be wrong however. I haven't tried this so can't say for sure but if you are not using midi in PT then you could try to make a set of extensions that is like the current only without OMS and then see if appletalk will work that way. Then just switch back if you need midi. That is just an idea and just like all other disclaimers... I am not responsible for any loss or damage of data ;-)

I may run into same problem myself when ever I get my home network installed.

u're right it came from oms, but PT cant run without oms.
in fact i found out that oms may have disactivate appletalk, cause if appletalk is on when you start PT, oms ask u if you want to turn it off, i think i must have accept one time, and he did it badly.
now on the chooser appletalk appears to be activated but not in the appletalk panel, and it wont accept to be turned off either. and PT keep asking me if i want to turn it off.
with another configuration without oms and digidesign stuff it woks perfectly and most surprisingly, if i create another configuration from the one that work, but adding oms and digidesign… it works too!!!
so i can now use appleshare.
the trick is : always disactivate appletalk using the appletalk panel, never use an other way neither the chooser, neither any application like PT or OMS asking u if it can turn it off for u!!
do it yourself :)
