Excuse my lack of knowledge on the matter. I'd like to know if I could use my iMac with Pro Tools and, If so, which are the minimum specs. Thanks!

no problems with Protools Free on an imac. Go to:
http://www.digidesign.com
Download it and enjoy.... ;-)

every other Protools versions (TDM,LE) work with dedicated PCI cards, so they won't work with an iMac (no PCI slots)

If you need to also make some MIDI, you will need to buy an USB MIDI interface. Smallest ones starting at about $100.
