Hi! I use an old MOTU MIDI Xpress 1 Mhz (4 in/6 out) hooked to a serial port on my beige G3 with OS 9.2. The driver I use must be around 50 yrs old....does any of you on the list now of any recent drivers compatible with this MIDI interface? Have tried searching but without luck so far. Thanks, Petter Wiik composer Oslo, Norway

I have the same setup - MIDI Xpress serial, Beige G3 (getting ready to move up, but that's another story...) There is an article on the support section for FreeMIDI that I really found useful for the MIDI Xpress - http://www.motu.com/english/techsupport/index.htmlI got rid rid of the MIDI Time Piece driver, which seems to confuse FreeMIDI - the article has you get rid of the Studio 4 driver in the FreeMIDI folder (in System Folder) - I didn't have a Studio 4 driver, but my FreeMIDI setup kept thinking I had a Midi Time Piece - I had a Studio 5 driver that I also got rid of. Now, when I start up FreeMIDI, it does not go to the "Studio 3" factory preset mode, but to the regular Sequencer 96 mode that it's supposed to go to. It worked for me, anyhow - also, I'm using FreeMIDI 1.46 - my computer doesn't like 1.48 - I have no idea why... best of luck to you.
