Hi all, I'm new to this forum and am hoping for a quick solution to a problem that's been nagging me for some time. First off heres my set up a 800 mhz I book running protools, absynth, live, reason utilizing a MAUDIO quattro midi audio interface hooked to an alesis qs 8 (synth/controller) I also have an oxygen 8 keyboard for travel. My dilemma is that my midi setup works intermittently. I've used both the qs8 and oxygen as controllers for both absynth and live. I've also succesfully entered midi info into the protools sequencer using the qs 8 and played it back. I'll turn off my cpu and not use the music software several days, dial up the same OMS settings, and walla nothing works. During those few days that I'm not using the music software, I'm working primarily in os x . I'm running all my music software in classic 9.2. Could my changing the startup os to X have an affect on the midi? or is there some phantom that's screwing with me? I just don't get IT!!! please help!!

If the OS9 you're using for music is also the one used as classic when in OSX, I'll search for that. Use a different OS 9 for music installed on a different partition. If you're using already one dedicated to music, I'm stuck
