My OMS Set Up freezes when trying to do a search for my PC-300 driver ie. I can't press the 'search button' or check the Printer and modem ports. Is that because the OMS I downloaded doesn't have an Extension? You know- that orange coloured icon that's supposed to appear in the Extensions folder for OS9. Where can I get it?

when you install OMS, it places the extension in you extension folder. You should see it appear at the bottom of your screen when the computer starts up. If you don't see it, it wasn't installed properly. You have to do a restart after the install.

In case the freeze is after the restart, turn off the computer as normally as possible if you can, the best way is to restart with extensions off (press shift during all start up until the mac displays extensions deactivated) then shut it down, wait a bit, restart.
If it crashes again, repeat to start up ok and get rid of the installed OMS and reinstall after a techtool/norton/sos disk utilities check up. One trick is to install OMS then install the PC 300 driver… or the reverse Also, try to install the PC 300 driver with the PC 300 plugged or unplugged… it can make a difference -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home
