Any suggestions gratefully received here -I'm fretting big-time over this.

I have a lot of music software installed in my old emac G4 - all legitimately bought by myself and registered -but for which I have lost the serial numbers (totally dumb I know).

I have recently upgraded to an Intel Imac - but have no clue as to how I can use my software on this machine (I fear the old one is creaking to a halt). To add foolishness to injury - and acting on advice from a pc specialist -I optimistically "migrated" all the contents of the G4 onto the Intel . Disaster! Not only does the G4 music software not work - I have also used up 70 of my 150Gb hard drive .

My 2 questions therefore are
1. Are there any means by which I could activate my software on the Intel Imac.?A lot of my software is by Native Instruments -and there method of contact involves putting in the serial numbers to their contact form before any progress can be made.

2. Is there anyway that I can "undo" the migration of the contents from my emacG4 to the intel -and hence free up 70gb of space?

Once again -any feedback gratefully received.

Best wishes -Phil

Hi There, I have looked at the NI site, I do not use their products but before you go completely spare, look at this link.

http://www.native-instruments.com/index.ph...mp;tsr_id=59574

The other thing is that most software lets you see the serial Nº via "about this software" look at it on your old machine and make note of it.

You could also use your member log in name and password to get access to all the updates on their site. having said that there are many patches etc available that do not require anything more than downloading ( from the unprotected area). I have found that in the past, I have forgotten numbers to install, but by mailing or writing to the companies and providing all the details ( proof of purchase, registered address etc) they are more than happy to provide the info. Just don't expect it to happen immediately.

As to removing the items from your drive, why not just drag them to the trash, or erase and install the system software again.

Have luck, but most of all, patience.
