so I just received my new UltraLite today
and tried to use the install disc to
install MOTU drivers and AudioDesk

I can not install the MOTU drivers or AudioDesk
at item number 417
I get the error
1008:5, -35 Drive Not Found
Installing 11,1:2 Second Delay - Ins#40124

this sucks
I can not even install drivers or AudioDesk

so My ultralite is rendered to a bookend

any ideas?

even with t he ultralite connected...
and on
also
have used applejack to repair permissions etc...
nothing works

Have you verified the drivers included are the right ones for your computer?

In doubt go at the MOTU website and retrive them

yes the drivers are correct
I did manage to DL and install the MOTU drivers from their site...

on unicornation I had someone else reply to me stating they had this issue too
and got a new install disc from MOTU and that solved it
they mentioned that the drivers will install from the disc but not audiodesk, and that this happens rarely....???

though that Sweetwater responded in kind to my email and mentioned after repairing permissions (which I had already done and tried) using Applejack not disc utility (but did that too)
they could send me out a new disc....

but MOTU has not replied to the same exact email which I sent Sweetwater...
where I got the unit...

also Audio desk is only compatible with pre-intel macs

which is cool here....

There must be a bad bunch of install CD… Keep us informed!

Anyway, I'd be you I'd look after my chinese horoscope , you always find the thingy that will have a problem LOL (just to cheers things up a little)

so I got it all going
Sweetwater tech support was helpful
it took 4-days for the MOTU tech support to reply ... but they were also helpful

after some advice on unicornation
and a few work arounds I got the drivers and audio desk to load
I am still playing and learning the ultralite
and have just begin to become familiar with audiodesk

the ultralite says nice n cool , which is so unlike the Firebox which gets very hot when running.

So it seems others have this same issue
there are some bad install discs I hear:
the fix
or work around is:

The drivers (only, not audiodesk) may be able to installedfrom the the install disc, if not
Download from the MOTU site and use those.

Download the "upgrade" to Audiodesk 2.04 (the current latest version) which is actually the full version
it should install fine from that installer

heres the trick:

after installing from the DL'd version of Audiodesk

[i]you must have the original install disc in your mac[/i]

when you open audiodesk for the first time
you will be able to authorize it with the key code that came in the (back cover of ) audiodesk manual

it should work

also MOTU will send you a new install disc
thats how I got it working!

hello i am new here

i am having a similar problem, only it's not when i get the upgrade, but from my install disc!

what happens is when i'm installing the motu 8pre software, i get the exact same error (1008:5,-35)

anyone know the workaround for that?
