I REALLY hate to bother you guys! I have been away from my home studio for a bit and have fallen out of the "loop" so to speak. I have a G5 dual 1.8 GHZ with 1.5 GB DDR Ram and I'm running Tiger 10.4.7

Ok so here's my issue I actually have two! One when I start to record an Audio instrument I have the click track to start a for click lead and I know I start on time, but the first note doesn't play out on play back. Now if the line I play is looped ... the first not plays on the re- up and then after. So I know the note had been captured. Why would this happen? I don't loop all the tracks I play so I'm a bit frustrated about that. Also I thought that any drum wave or aiff for that matter can be made into an Apple Loop through the apple loop software? When I pull a wave file in and after I adjust the length and save NOTHING!

I haven't been doing music as much as I use to and I am hungry to get back into it, but these small glitches kind of turn my creativity off.

Help thanks! I'd really appreciate it!

• missing first notes: I have this problem all the time.. its been happening off and on since I started using Logic Pro 7 about 2.5 years ago. I wish this would get fixed soon. Problem I have is that it sometimes works fine.. only specific circumstances cause the problem to occur and I cannot figure out what they are, or I'd avoid doing that!

• If you have a loop you want to turn into an Apple Loop you have a few options. You need to ask yourself a question, is this loop perfectly trimmed and looping fine if I loop it in Logic?
• if the answer is yes, then you are in good shape. I suggest launching the Apple Loops Utility which should be in your /Applications/Utlities/ folder
-- if you dont' have ALU get it here:
ftp://ftp.apple.com/developer/Development...s_SDK_1.3.1.dmg
-- drag your wav or aif file onto the loop browser side bar - note you can batch convert dozens of files at a time if you like. I recommend making sure that the files are all the same type. For example, if they are all drum loops, it makes it a lot easier to batch tag the loops so that they show up right when you search the loop browers
-- in ALU, you can set markers which are used to optimize the time stretching. In fact these markers are unique to Logic. They protect transients in the loop from the diffusing effects of timestretching. This means your snares are snappier and your kicks thumpier. You can learn more about this from reading the cool docs that come with the Loop Utility SDK at the above link.

• if you want, you can do it the quick and dirty method right inside of Logic!
- add loop to the arrange window
- note the length of the loop in bars
- select a cycle range of time in the ruler that matches the length of the audio loop (if the loop is 2 bars, select from bar 1 to the end fo bar 2
- select the region for the looped wav/aif that you added
- from Logic's OPTIONS menu select TEMPO > ADJUST TEMPO USING REGION LEGNTH AND LOCATORS
- click "Global"
--- note ----
you have now set the tempo of logic to the tempo of the loop.. this is important for the next phase, which requires the loop be sync'd with the logic tempo. It does not timestretch the loop, but just sets the tempo of logic to match the natural tempo of the loop
- from the arrange window's "Region" menu, select "add to apple loops library"
- fill out all of the info about the file, is it a loop, what types of descriptor tags fit the character of the loop. You might find they don't match exactly, so just pick something that will help you find the loop better from the loop browser
- give the loop a name ( i think it takes the region name by default )
- click "create"
- after a few seconds, the loop is added to the loop library and will show up when you do a search for it either by name or by descriptors

voila!
