I am having a real serious problem. When I try to attach the "virtual cables" in the Audio Midi Setup utility they will not attach. Consequently when I try to use Finale or Protools Le 6.4 the components of my system are not recognized, even though the proper drivers have been installed. angry.gif

(Keyststion Pro 88----->MidiSport 2X2----->Edirol Studio Canvas------>iMac G4)

I desparately need to be able to use my system. Easter is coming and I must prepare the music. Can anyone help me please????

Thanking you in advance,

Rev. Gerry

Repair permissions

Trash the audio and midi preferences
~/users/yourusername/library/preferences/com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist

And any cache file apple related with audio in it.

Restart, and if the issue is still there it's not related to permissions or screwed settings in the audio midi set up, so investigate the eventual drivers and firmwares.

Merci, Mon. lepetitmartien, pour votre repond? :-)
Ma Francais est tres viex, mais J'essais.

I did repair the permissions and put the preferences in the trash. However, I found no cache files related to Apple audio, only those related to other apps. But then again, my Mac has worked so well these last four years, I haven't had to deal with the really head bending stuff and may not have known what I was looking
at. I still have the same problem.
I tried to delete all of the icons in the Audio Midi Setup but one with a question mark on it could not be deleted. It had the Manufacturer's name on it but the piece of equipment it could possibly refer to is not connected. If I remove all of the icons and reinstall the OS and then reinstall all of the drivers will that work? I don't know anything about investigating the firmware.

Merci, encore, Je vous attend,
Rev. Gerry
