Maybe I'm missing something really obvious here, but I've been through the manual and the only way I can see to input music, aside from playing in real time, is to click on the notation view on the staff in the editor.

Is there any way to work in the grid view? Or by using a keyboard (external or musical typing) to enter individual real time notes in the editor, rather than just clicking in quarter and half notes? I find notation mode limiting with regard to expression, and record pretty unforgiving (yeah, I know you can edit afterwards, but I'd rather just get it in right the first time).

Just out of curiosity, why would you not want to play your music in real time? Keyboard skill isn't an issue, because you can play it in a bar at a time, on overdub, as slowly as you like. It's the only way you're going to get expression into your music. Just my five cents worth.

Goog luck,

Geoff
