When I play any AIFF, MPeg3 or Wave with my quicktime, the stereo sound is routed to Analog 1 and 2 instead the Main Stereo of my MOTU 828 MKII (MK2).

If I play a sound in mono, it will be routed to Analog 3 !

I have checked the properties of the quicktime file (Cmd-J), they indicate that they are routed to the "left" and the "right".

I do not have this problem with movies Mpeg1.

I do not have this problem with other software as Cubase SX2, iTunes... etc... the sounds are properly routed to the MainStereo.

My configuration is :

PowerBook G4
Tiger 10.4.8
Quicktime 7.1.3

MOTU 828 MKII
Driver 1.4.3.

I found already one solution of my problem :

The "Audio & Midi configuration" was setted on Stereo Multichanel instead of stero.

So now, stereo Quicktime files are routed to the Main Stereo of my MOTU.

BUT...

Mono files are routed nowhere with or without my MOTU interface.

Any idea ?

I got so tired of fighting with apps other than my main daw, and iTunes, I just left all others running through my original sound card.... routed into my support sound system.

Maybe you could try some freebies from Rogue Amoeba. Detour and SoundSource may be of help. Save if it's a driver issue f…g things up.

If it does not work, you can uninstall them easily.
