Hi,
Need some help please. I am working on a project started in Garageband, and then imported the project into Logic. When I try to make a NEW audio track in the arrange window to say, record an acoustic track, I double-click after Output 1-2 on the arrange window and Logic makes a new track called "Output 1-2". Problem is, when I create a new track, it's EXACTLY the same as the track before, with the same exact track number and/or MIDI channel. Smae goes with software instruments too. I then end up with a blank track and the track it copies. Hit Mute, both tracks mute out. Hit record, both tracks hit record. It's driving me insane.
How do I create a track that won't mimic the track before it? I try changing the track number, but it changes the track it copied to the new track nubmber too!!!
Thanks in advance for your replies

Thanks in advance for your replies Please,please,please...RTFM - you'll learn other useful things, too. Understanding the basics helps a lot when working with Logic. But OK, select "create with next instrument" from the track menu.

Hi Wild Bill
I had the same problem creating new audio tracks on Logic. What I do now : after having selected the last audio track, I go on the upper left side of the arrangement screen to "track", then I select " creation multiple" (sorry, but my Logic is in french) wich is the third on the list just after "create with the following instrument". This leads me to a new small screen where I am asked to select the number of new audio traks that I need. Very simple, once you know...

In order to get a new audio track, I need to go to the last audio track on the list and go Track>Create. I was doing it at the very bottom, after Output 1-2 which only made another Output 1-2. I have a long way to go with this software, but so far its amazing, and the amount of presets available on the effects are phenominal. Glad I bought the Pro version.
