hi im just making the change from garage band to cubase. Everyone told me this was a good move and i was wondering if anyone could give me any hints. thanks

Actually SX is the least effecient of all the Mac DAWs, to find others with same pain go to

Wouldn't agree with you there. Tried a demo of live 5 last week. Maxed out playing a 2 bar loop with 4 vsti's and 2 effects. Opened up cubase to see how it compared using the same instuments, patches etc and cpu sat at 40%.

Live runs OK on my powerbook, started choking around 16 tracks of VI(much more than I got out of SX). It also has a limited freeze function for freeing up cpu.

Couldn't use live as my main app, but I use it for quick sketches.
