I have been using the Tascam US-122 for a few years wth varying degrees of success. The analog interface with the phantom power and the guitar line inputs worked alright, although the level of the guitar input is a little low.... But the Midi keeps shifting keys on me. I assumed it was because I was using a powerbook G3, but when I upgraded my system to a ibook G5 with maxed out memory and 2 gig processor and I am still having problems with midi key variance. I have also switched to Logic from DP and still have the problems. Guess what... Tascam says they have never heard of this problem and suggest it is my midiman keyboard controller. Has anyone had a similar problem or think it makes sense that it is the keyboard?

I have only used mine with the 1/4 and XLR inputs I use a Radium 49 M-Audio Midi Controller which works fine for what I am doing (Apple Garageband) Guitar, Vocals and Software instruments are fine I think.. I agree re: guitars being low I will keep a watch on that next time I record. Sorry could not help more I do think the US-122 is one of the better USB interfaces out there Have you checkec www.harmonycentral.com ??

i was having similar problems with M audiophile in Logic. it turns out that my sample rate was "not allowed" so it would record anyway without me knowing and then when I played back the vocals sounded like chipmunks and everything was a step up in key. Not sure if this helps or not. Good luck.
