First time forum user so bear with me. I have a G4 powerbook running Mac 10.4. I just upgraded to PT LE 6.9.2 from 6.2.2 and purchased powered studio monitors. I have never used my Mbox for playback of iTunes etc... but am trying it now. I connected the Mbox using 1/4" to XLR cables from the Mbox (line out on the back) to the monitors. I configured my sound prefs to Mbox DW for both input and output. All i get is garbled nonsense during playback. I also imported a track to a PT session and played back. Same deal. I am probably missing something in the setup but need some guidance. The digidesign core audio manager sees the Mbox connected. Is there any other setup necessary? Help!!! I was monitoring playback in the past using the headphone jack on the front. Thanks in advance.

Did you check your I/O setup and make sure that your clock is set to internal and not digital or spidf? It sounds to me like this is your problem or that you have to go into your hardware setup and increase the buffer size. How much RAM do you have installed?

Thanks for the reply. I walked away for a while and came back and tried again and it miraculously worked. I think it may be a quirky thing with the order of how things are launched. Not sure but I will try again tonight to see if it still works. In I/O setup for the Core Audio Manager I am set to internal I believe I tried switching to spdif to no avail. My buffer size is set to 512 and I have 684 MB RAM installed. Sounds great but I will try again tonight. It may be possible that certain settings are not taking effect until somethings are closed and opened again. Not sure but will post further info. Thanks again!
