Hi!

I am on the lookout for a Pro-quality Style-based Arranger/Auto-accompaniment software for Mac OS X. I tried BIAB but did not like the quality of the styles when compared to those on Roland E series arrangers.

I'm just curious if you had Band in a Box regular or Mega Pak? And what was your sound source? (I'm band in a box user?) Are you familar with http://www.nortonmusic.com/
they have a bunch of styles that compliment Band in A Box. (For a price!)

I have BIAB regular ie BIAB Pro 12. My sound source is internal (PowerBook G4). What I need is a 'dense' accompaniment to be played live/in realtime. My ideal setup would be connecting my Roland GI-20 (Midi guitar controller) to my PowerBook and strum chords to generate realtime autoaccompaiment for my singing (live shows).

BIAB is a five instrument accompaniment -- BUT have you tried exporting those 5 in midi to something like Logic and assigning other insuments to them?

I have had some success to copying and transposing midi lines, so you can move violin line to double in viola or cello, etc.

Percussion track comes across into any general midi kit OK.

A little more work -- not ideal -- but it does make a difference.

What I need is LIVE auto accompaniment; ie., I strum chords on my midi guitar which should generate LIVE/REALTIME auto accompaniment for my singing. I don't record. I only play live.
