Newbie here. Using an iBook G4 with 512 RAM, more on the way. With 8 tracks recorded, mostly software, I'm getting error codes 39 and 709 returned from core audio and only 4 of my tracks play back although I can see the others are there. I can use some education here if anyone has an answer and the time to make it. Thanks!

Number one, you need more RAM, 512 is the minimum just to run the OS.

With that amount of memory the OS will use your hard drive for virtual memory. Not a good thing GB and and the OS attempting to read/write at the same time.

Are you recording to a dedicated external audio-only drive?

Thanks for taking the time! I've got more memory on the way for a new total of 1.256. I've also just bought a Glyph external hard drive with 120GBs knowing that I'll need it but not knowing how to set it up to work together.

With help I shall prevail! (Although a newbie to digital, back in the days of 2" tape I had a Billboard single at #26 with an album at #44. Now I want back in for fun.)

Nothing special, Garage Band by default wants to save allsongs and files in the documents folder on your main drive.

Just make sure when you start a new song, to save it to your Glyph.
