Have 24 bit/48k files rather large.. live tracks from a band. About 800 meg per track. Using audio import it says its creating an overview but it doesn't show up in the arrange window except for a sliver of a graphic file at the head. Double clicking into the editor shows the file graphically and can play it but nothing shows up in the arrange window. (Strangely, even though there is no graphic, the file plays.) These files were created on an Alesis HD recorder put on a DVD and given to me. They show up as QT aif files. Saw that a track was 24/48k with big endian encoding... saved as a straight aif 24/48k out of qt but still no go. Went to my logic supplier and tried all this on his system... same thing happened. Maybe file size limit? Dual 2.0, 2 gigs ram.. nothing funny about the system..10.3.9 stumped. Any thoughts would be appreciated. mak

Gdoubleyou.. set it to auto zoom... no matter what magnification setting.. the sliver does not expand... tried grabbing it from the bottom of the wave file to expand it and it refuses to budge.. the yellow message box comes up with the name of the file, the length but nothing happens.. a mystery for sure. again, my sample editor shows the wave form but that's it.. in the editor I have "refreshed overview" to no avail. Any other suggestions? again, the file is there but I can't see it..! thanks, Mak

Hi guys
I had this bug already, with some very long audio files. The audio file is there but the "region" is stucked to a very small length in the arrange. I managed to get it right with the sample editor. So try modifying the length of the region using the function "selection->region" in the "edition" tab. Once this is done, everything go back to a normal behaviour. As far as I know, this bug disappeared in Logic 7.1

hey.. fixed it.. another way. looked under "maximum length" in reference manual.
"The maximum length of a Logic song is 8550 quarter notes, or about 2158 bars in 4/4 time. A song can therefore last a maximum of around 70 minutes at a tempo of 120 bpm. At 95 bpm, the maximum length is over an hour and a half.".. Logic reference manual
went from 120 bmp to 5 and the wave form appeared. Not very intuitive. I converted my 24 bit 48khz file to 16/44.1 in hopes of solving it and will now try to import the original files into the program. Thank God I solved this.. almost bought protools LE m-powered thinking this wasn't going to work.. why drive an escort when you can drive a porche?
thanks for the feedback.. will look at your solution also Julien.. both thanks Mak
