Hey whats up everybody. Hope everyone's well. I just read the Logic vs DP debate, it was very amusing. Originally I was thinking about getting Logic Express or Cubase SL. After reading that thread I gonna have to say Logic pro for $500, if I can find a student, sure sounds good. But I was just wondering how folks think Cubase stacks up, I'm guessing people generaly prefer Logic, but I thought I might as well check, maybe there's a way to get SX for cheap. I like the idea of lots of plugins and also that Logic's made by mac. I'm leaning towards Logic, anybody have any opinons. I'll be making beats/songs. Hip-hop, and the like. I'll be using Reason and other midi instruments, and I'll want to be able to record vocals (I can do that on both right?). Or should I consider any other programs?
I also have a real slow processor (400 mhz), but like 1.2 Gbs of RAM. It looks like Logic wins that category also.
Thanks for reading. smile.gif

You would have to upgrade your hardware to use SX, it has the highest minimum requirements of all Mac DAWs.

I was a longtime cubase user, that upgraded to Sx2, didn't work on my G4/400. would boot but was so slugish that it was unusable.

I later got a 1GHz Powerbook, results were not much better. i had to put SX on my PC to tranfer my old cubase sessions.

so I purchased Logic Express, and DP4, Logic is the most cpu effecient. I was able to sessions of 24-32 24bit tracks on my G4/400, no sweat.

so if you really want to run SX get a PC.
