I am currently using Peak in OSX. I need a multi track editor that I can import mp3s into (it does not need to convert them to aiff) and put them in the same track, one after the next. I would prefer if there is a way to automate this.

It will for a podcast, and the mp3s are from a portable mp3 recorder with multiple recordings. I need to edit it, put music on a couple tracks, mix, and encode to an mp3.

depends what you have to spend- logic pro/express will do this very well, although if you look around you might be able to find something cheaper....
