higuys. im looking to record our drummers drums individually to create a soundfont. Im running an old wallstreet G3 just for portability sake, it wont run protools free (yet) simply because i dont have enough ram, so i need something else.

Have you tried Quicktime Pro? I know version 6 can record audio. Not with a lot of control, but better than nothing. Check the software section of this site for come other options for hosts.
