Hi There, I'm looking at purchasing a 15inch powerbook next month as my main music computer and I have a couple of questions? Sorry if you think these a stupid questions Do you think its worth paying extra for 1.67GHz PowerPC G4 or should I purchase the 1.5GHz and add more RAM from an external supplier? Also is the superdrive really worth the extra money? Cheers John

Thanks I think I'm going to purchase the 1.5GHz from apple and choose the superdrive as an optional extra. I take it theres no problems buying extra memory from somewhere else and installing it? Thanks John

Hi jon172! QUOTE Sorry if you think these a stupid questions Dont worry - science is asking stupid questions until you get to the really good ones. The 11% spedd difference is in my opinion not really worth it. Under OS-X you'll need all the ram your computer can swallow. Buy extra ram instead. Running Digtal Performer 4.52 on OS-X basically means 1Gb ram. (rule of thumb) If you need to backup lots of data or burning mpeg-movies - then superdrive is certainly worth consideration. DVD-media is starting to become quite cheap also. so.... Cheers: Dixiechicken
