Just wanted to share some very good news with the rest of the Group on my current success with configuring my i-book Midiman 2x2 M-box Cheap $25 Dollar Mic The whole point of my initial setup was to see could I use my midiman box with the mbox. The answer is Yes! they work beautifully together. This is my first experience with Protools and Digidesign products. I've been trying to accomplish desktop recording for a year now and I finally have reached my mecca with these tools. I've tried Cakewalk, Cubase, and to no avail could get them to configure with "0" latency. For me ProTools is it!!!!! I can record every instrument with my keyboard using midiman 2x2 and in Protools turn on an audio track to record what I played with midi and it's just awesome. This technique gives me unlimited creativity with both midi and audio. I can take the midi and create lead sheets, transpose to another key, ect. While at the same time generate awesome audio tracks. Speaking of Audio the Focusrite Mic PreAmps are a god send. To let you all know just how good they are in my personal opinion. I took some really cheap $25 dollar mics and recorded some vocals onto my roland 840 harddisc recorder. They sounded like cheap mics. I then plugged the same mics into the M-box i.e. focusrite pre-amps and WOW!,...A good pre-amp really makes a difference. I could definately hear the difference. This is just an update publishing something Good for all to see as my confirmed testimony that ProTools-M-Box-I-book-Midi Man play together nicely. I appreciate all the help the group provided me both directly telling me what, when, why, who, and How to do things what to look for ect. If I can be of help to anyone please don't hesitate to ask.
