Hi all.
Let's try to let the developers know how much we need AU plugs that are only hardware DSP card dependant.
The Sony Oxford plugs have been ported to the RTAS version... wouldn't that be great if us native users of AU host could do the same?

I addressed Sony about this and recieved this reply:

Dear Harley,

Thanks for your e-mail enquiry about an 'Audio Units' format release of the Sony
Oxford plugins. If the demand is high enough to justify the development time and
effort to port the plugins, then there would be good reason to produce a native
'Audio Units' version of the Sony plugins.

We have produced 'RTAS only' versions of the plugins for ProTools LE, so porting
to AU could make sense, but it is still too early to determine when we will have
the resources necessary to do so, at this time.

Finally, please note that the Sony Oxford plugins that we have produced for TC
Electronic's Powercore hardware which run with VST compliant applications will
also run on MOTU's Digital Performer as a MAS plugin.

Regards,
Rod Mansell.

So, as we can see we need to let these developers know that we really want a native format of these great plugs!

Us as Mac users are really going to benefit by just sending an email and letting them know we really are interested in a AU version!

RTAS means they link their use to PT, jump to AU would mean be less PT dependant and more non-pro oriented. The only solution to make them understand those stupid stories of plug-in format is to raise the hell.

So every one salivateing on the plug in they dream but not available for it's mac, or in the format they want: just tell them, politely but fermly. rolleyes.gif
