Can anyone reccomend a decent soundcard for recording a few acoustic guitars, vox, bass and an electronic kit? I'm a bit miffed as some say i would need a better card for acoustic work. Anyhow i have an Ibook 750MHZ with garage band and cubase sx, and would want to record each track individually. Cheers!

since you're using an imac you got usb or fw cards to choose from,it all depends on your budget and in which situations you want to use it.personally i would stick to firewire 'cause whatever they say about usb ,i just never had any luck with it and at the end i trust 6 pins over 4 on a thin cable.a motu 808mkII is a really nice interface that would give you good results,or for less than half the price a M-audio firewire 410 is nice too.if you can check before buying ,have a go and pick the one's that sound the best for you.good luck

Exactly what I was going to say, although I think our friend deegone means the MOTU 828. I have an original 828 (not so many flashing lights and no MIDI compared to the MkII version), but it's been rock solid for me since day one. Chances are you could pick one up second-hand cheaper than the M-Audio 410 - and it, and its drivers, would be more reliable. Of course, I don't know how much money you've got - if you can afford it, get a brand new 828 MkII. Also, you don't need a better card specifically for acoustic work - you need a decent soundcard full stop, for anything.
