440 Forums _ Digital Performer, AudioDesk _ Midi Parameters In Dp4

Posted by: whojoe Sat 3 Jan 2004, 19:09

I'm swithcing over from cakewalk in which I can set the MIDI parameters for each track. For example I can set thhe track so that it will play the selected patch in a different octave or with different velocity.
I have not yet figured out hoe to do this inn DP4 or iff it is evven possible.
It would seem to be a tremendous oversite!
thanks

Open up your mixing console in DP4 and at the top of each channel strip are drop down menues where you can transpose, compress, etc. Quite a comprehensive list of midi editing options. You just moved up to the best sequencer on the planet.

Also, force yourself to read the manual. It is extremely well written. It's big, I know, but it will tell you stuff that you never realized DP could do. Also, there is a very good website for DP users: www.unicornation.com.

Good luck. smile.gif

Hey there:

I've used Performer almost since the beginning. Their manuals are the most logically written manuals I have seen. Whenever you need to know something, use the index. The trick is to come up with the right wording for your problem and then find it in the index items at the back of the manual.

I've gone through my manuals, read them cover to cover and used yellow highlghters on anything that really sticks out at me. It makes finding things easier for future reference.
