Is anyone yet aware of a shipping/release date for Logic Gold (not Platinum!) for OSX? I'm assuming also that there will be a free OS9-->OSX upgrade for Logic Gold 5 users unless someone corrects me!

there will definitely be a free 9-x upgrade but no news regarding when yet.
however, get the most out of your plugs for now, virtually none of them will be useable under x.
