I rest my case re: OS problems pre-Jaguar delaying things.

Then again, it claims to run on X, 10.1.5, and 10.2. It'll be very interesting to find out more in this regard.

i was told that the core audio was actually ready with 10.1.5 so logic should work fine there too.

Amazing! Going to get Logic 5 right away!!

The 10.2 / 10.1.5 thing is interesting though, curieus if there's a difference in performance between the two.

Hurrah! And with a cool new Aqua-fied logo, to boot! biggrin.gif

I don't like the look of that ".0 " in the version number, though - looks like they're already preparing for future revisions... blink.gif

But what the heck - let's go!

Posted by: filarion Mon 2 Sep 2002, 11:05

I'm glad that there's a .0, really smile.gif Akai/Rex import isn't there yet and ReWire isn't either. But this is not the time to be nitpicking, I'm so glad that I can finally upgrade my desktop to OSX and my new Powerbook is rocking the house now. Performance seems to be every bit as good as in OS9, but I haven't really pushed it yet.

When are they going to release the X version of Logic Gold and Audio anyway? huh.gif Since i hardly ever use the audio part of logic, there's isn't much reason for me to spend my money on that, but i'd like to see Logic Audio available for X now!!!

Posted by: kamilof Mon 2 Sep 2002, 18:59

I am really happy to see finally Logic Audio Platinum 5.x for OS X... But I am stuck in Logic Audio Gold 4.8.1 and can't wait any longer (everything I do is on OS X 10.2 already with the exception of LAG 4.8.1)... unsure.gif

Is there a way to upgrade from LAG 4.x to LAP 5.x ?? I've contacted emagic support but no answer from them yet...

Thanks in advance for any hint on this cool.gif !

Yes, you can upgrade from gold 4.x to platinum 5.x (actually, there are virtually no "impossible upgrades" biggrin.gif ) the dutch ditributor of emagic charges €419,- (ex. VAT) for this particular upgrade, i'd say it will be slightly lower in stores.

Very few Carbonized VST plugins anyways. And the current ones will be relatively easy to port to AudioUnit format.

ASIO is dead. CoreAudio has it replaced .

Rewire and Digi support is dependent on the respective companies getting their products together.

Reports are the efficiency in many areas is very noticeable. Thats a great thing.

Damann--

other stuff missing? like what? Do you have OS X drivers for your hardware and if so, is everything working together?

Thanks for the input!

mmm

the motu 828 seems fine but obviously, i'm not using it much in 10.2. biggrin.gif
logic seems fine apart from the fact that the only plugins that show up are their own.
the amt8 is fine.
i've read cofirmations of succesful results with other hardware AND sequencers. wink.gif
but any sequencer, without it's 3rd party developers, 'aint up to the job as far as what i'm trying to do with it!
